why?

i hade paneer bhurji for lunch today. it was jain. it had no taste.
how do they make food without onions

between u and me, i wonder how ANYONE can last without at LEAST a smidgen of onions/garlic.

I asked myself the same question when I couldn't find ginger in turkey. Agreed, its easier to survive without ginger than garlic or onions. The closest they have is powdered ginger. My Indian cooking just wasn't the same.
